Wyndfield West Park

Alexander Budrevics and Associates Limited was retained by Empire Communities to lead the design, detailing, tendering, and construction administration of a centrally located community park for the City of Brantford. Envisioned as a key neighbourhood amenity, the park is designed to support year-round use and serve residents of all ages and abilities.

The design places a strong emphasis on accessibility and inclusivity, integrating a range of active and passive program elements within a cohesive and legible layout. Active features include a parking area, a fully accessible washroom building, a multi-use court, a splash pad, and a playground zone with both junior and senior play structures. Natural play opportunities are incorporated through a log and sand play area, complemented by traditional swing sets.

Passive spaces are organized around a series of connected walkways that encourage movement throughout the site and provide access to seating areas, open lawn spaces, and diverse planting zones. A leaf-shaped pavilion serves as a visual focal point and gathering space, offering shade and shelter while reinforcing the park’s identity. Collectively, the park balances recreation, relaxation, and inclusive design to create a welcoming community destination.
