Landscape Designer
Matt is a Landscape Designer passionate about creating engaging, site-responsive landscapes that balance aesthetic appeal, functionality, and ecological sensitivity. He focuses on enhancing user experience and maximizing the potential of each space while integrating principles of sustainability and ecological restoration.
Matt began his career in landscape maintenance, installation, and construction, gaining hands-on experience that informs his practical approach to design. He earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Guelph, along with a Certificate in Environmental Citizenship and the Wadsworth Scholarship, reflecting his combination of technical skill, environmental awareness, and creative design thinking.
At Alexander Budrevics Landscape Architecture, Matt collaborates closely with architects, project managers, and designers on commercial, industrial, residential, and naturalization projects. His work spans conceptual planning, colour renderings, working drawings, site inspections, construction details, tree protection strategies, soil volume calculations, and tender and cost documentation.
Matt is actively pursuing his full OALA license, continuing to expand his expertise while delivering landscapes that are sustainable, functional, and engaging for clients and communities alike. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring natural spaces, and connecting with friends and family.
