Steph is a Landscape Architect at ABAL, bringing extensive experience in school ground landscape design and project management. She has coordinated and collaborated with external consultants, contractors, and organizations on site improvement projects ranging from sports field repairs and playground installations to tree planting initiatives and complete site redevelopments, with total project values exceeding $25 million.
Her project management experience in the public sector includes cost tracking, budget planning, grant applications, and ongoing communication with school administration, staff, parent councils, superintendents, Trustees, students, and community members through master planning exercises, participatory design, and locally funded site improvements. During her tenure with the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB), Steph developed the process for all outdoor environment improvements, including the Playground and Schoolyard Revitalization Fund, an internal grant program supporting outdoor upgrades at schools.
Steph began her career with a landscape contractor, gaining hands-on construction experience, and then joined ABAL as a Landscape Technician, focusing primarily on Toronto Public Housing projects. After her time at TCDSB, she returned to ABAL as a Landscape Architect, bringing her practical experience and public-sector expertise back to the firm.
In addition to her professional practice, Steph is a sessional lecturer in the Masters of Landscape Architecture program at the University of Guelph. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and exploring new places.
